Mr. Sourdry was the proprietor of A.L. Sourdry Shoes, ;located at 222 State Street in downtown New Albany. Other members of the Sourdry family listed as living here in the 1917-18 City Directory were Mayme V., who worked as a clerk, and Victor J., who was an assistant auditor. The house remains in the Sourdry family today.

The dining room boasts a spectacular built-in china cupboard with leaded glass doors, and the large adjacent kitchen also includes original cabinetry.

A beautifully-detailed staircase leads to the upper level, which includes large bedrooms and plenty of space for an additional bathroom.

The home sits on a full, unfinished basement with tall ceilings. A single-car, brick garage is located at the alley. The home sits in a central location in the city, just a half-block from Ritter Park and an elementary school, and with easy access to New Albany High School and Hazelwood Middle School, as well as downtown.
